Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival

One the biggest events of the year is held from the 12th to the 14th of September, The Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival is three days of fun, fashion, glamour, food and entertainment.

Carnival on Collins

One for the family, Carnival on Collins is an annual street party celebrating life in the tropics at the Tanks Arts Centre and Cairns Botanic Gardens Precinct. This event is the perfect way to spend your father's day, with so many activities it is sure to please everybody.

A Cairns Father's Day tradition presenting fun and fruity roving performers, an inspiring line up of musicians, a motorbike show, an open air art studio, an extensive range of free workshops and over 200 market stalls featuring all your favourites. The event is open from 9.00AM to 3.00PM and is a free event making it one of the most popular choices for families on a sunny September morning. 

Reef Beat Festival

For a bit of excitement throughout the day and night, for music lovers and conservationists alike, the Reef Beat Festival is the event which incorporates the best parts of Cairns for a good cause.

Reef Beat Festival is an 18+ event hosted on Saturday the 7th of September and is an exciting new style of event being held in the heart of Cairns. This event brings together Music, Arts & Cultural performances for a full day of quality entertainment all in support of Reef Conservation. Every ticket brought contribuites to Turtle Conservation, with a portion of the total sales being donated to the 'Sea Turtle Foundation.' 

The event will be held in the Cairns Show Grounds from 12.00pm to 10.30pm and is a fully licenced event, the program is full of amazing local & interstate Live Music Acts & DJ’s, Interactive Visual Art Installations, our Reef Partners with exciting activities & live Cultural Performances.

Red Bull Defiance Challenge 

The Red Bull Defiance Challenge from the 30th of August to the 1st of September, is a perfect way for thrill-seekers to kickstart the month.  A picturesque rainforest to reef course in the Cassowary Coast Region of Queensland has been mapped, designed to test athletes over two challenging days. Each day involves multiple race disciplines, taking competitors through awe-inspiring terrain and scenery. Red Bull Defiance challenges all athletes mentally and physically. Racing in two-person teams, the course will see athletes take on up to 6 stages across white water rafting, trail running, mountain biking and kayaking. If you are up for a challenge this event starting in mission beach will not be one you want to miss. 

Jimmy Barnes – Shutting Down Your Town Tour

Looking for the perfect way to end the month of September? The Jimmy Barnes tour on the 21st of September in the beautiful Martin Munro Parklands will provide entertainment all night long. Whether you are a die-hard fan or just looking to appreciate a music legend, this headlining tour will be the talk of Cairns. Australian indie rock favourites Eskimo Joe will be the support act, there will be a full night of performances that will not dissapoint.
